 Golf Course Overview

Cupar Golf Club was founded on 7 November 1855, and is believed to be the oldest continuous nine-hole golf club in the world. The club settled into its present location at Hilltarvit on the south side of Cupar in 1892. The hillside parkland course is well tended and mature, measuring 5,153 yards from the medal tees with a par of 68 and featuring small greens cut into the hillside, the longest hole being 417 yards. With alternative tees for 18-hole play, the layout demands a variety of shot-making skills and appeals to players of all abilities, with a par-3 opener and a short par-4 9th offering an excellent birdie finish in front of the clubhouse.

The clubhouse is home to the popular Auld Nine Restaurant & Bar (also known as the Greenhouse Bar and Grill) serving varied menus to golfers, non-golfers, and private functions, alongside a welcoming lounge, men's and ladies' locker rooms, practice putting green and practice net. The club adopts the "Ready Golf" philosophy to speed up play. Visitors are welcomed all year round (Saturdays from 2pm with a handicap). Situated on Ceres Road about ten miles west of St Andrews, the course is easily reached via the A91 with Cupar railway station just a short distance away.
