Golf Course Overview
Crosland Heath was founded in 1914 on a site of disused quarries and redundant farmland south-west of Huddersfield, with the course designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie. Measuring just over 6,000 yards to a par of 71, the heathland layout is among the highest in England, offering panoramic views across the Colne Valley while remaining a flat and relatively easy walk. The course is particularly celebrated for its "tower" par 3s set around the old quarry workings, and the layout's out-and-back par 5s and par 3s running in opposing directions mean the golfer plays to all points of the compass over a round.
The clubhouse offers a traditional bar, catering, changing rooms and function facilities, and the club has a pro shop and practice ground. Firm, free-draining turf means the course plays well year-round, and visitors and societies receive a warm welcome. Crosland Heath is around three miles from Huddersfield town centre off the A62 Manchester Road, with the village of Crosland Moor the closest local landmark.

It has commanding views of the town and down through the Colne Valley and as its name suggests this is a pure heathland golf course. It's made all the more special by no less than five holes that are played over old quarries.
