Golf Course Overview
Copt Heath Golf Club was founded in 1908 by Alfred Lovekin, with the original nine-hole layout later extended to 18 holes under the supervision of Harry Vardon and subsequently shaped by the celebrated architect Harry Colt. More recent refinements have been undertaken by Cameron Sinclair, Hawtree and Frank Pont. The classic parkland course plays to a par of 71 over 6,541 yards from the medal tees, with a demanding opening stretch, expertly positioned greenside and fairway bunkers, mature trees and smooth, quick putting surfaces. Its strategic bunkering and course-management demands are its defining features.
Consistently ranked among the top courses in the Midlands and used as a regional Open Championship qualifying venue, Copt Heath hosts the annual Peter McEvoy Trophy for under-18 boys and girls along with numerous county events. The well-appointed clubhouse offers a 180-seat restaurant, stud bar, function rooms for up to 200 guests, meeting facilities and practice areas. Located on the A41 between Solihull and Knowle, the club is easily reached from the M42 and M6.

"Copt Heath is a very fine parkland golf course that requires precision, plotting and a deft touch around the slick greens."
It is a venue that squeezes absolutely every ounce of potential out of its site. This is largely due to the excellent bunkering which brings what is otherwise rather uninspiring terrain to life.
