Golf Course Overview

Comrie Golf Club was founded in 1891 and is widely regarded as one of Scotland's finest nine-hole courses. The present 9-hole layout was designed by five-time Open Champion James Braid (with input from Colonel Williamson) in 1924, making full use of the natural topography of the Laggan Braes above the village. Measuring just over 6,000 yards when played twice (par 70), the heathland-style course sits in a commanding position with tremendous views over Strathearn and the surrounding Perthshire hills. Notable holes include the testing par-3 3rd and 5th, where accurate tee shots are essential, and the 9th – played through an avenue of trees. The club has nurtured fine golfers including former Curtis Cup player Carly Booth and her brother Wallace.

The simple, member-run clubhouse opens daily from April to September (9am – 4pm) serving coffee and meals to golfers and non-golfers alike, and is available for catering and venue hire. Visitors are welcomed every day with competitive green fees, and the course has a softspike and GPS-approved policy with dogs allowed on leads. Comrie is a member of the 1895 Club group and offers several reciprocal arrangements. Situated on Laggan Braes at the eastern end of Comrie village just off the A85, the club is only 20 minutes from Gleneagles and a short drive from Crieff and Perth.
