Golf Course Overview
Colville Park Golf Club opened in 1923 as a 9-hole course on the historic Jerviston Estate, founded by the Colville family of Scottish steel-making fame. The course was extended and refined to 18 holes by James Braid in 1925, when membership stood at 400; today the club has over 900 members. The mature parkland course measures around 6,329 yards with a par of 71, with tree-lined and more open holes set across the former 240-acre estate. The closing five holes provide stunning views over the Clyde Valley from Tinto to Glasgow. The original Jerviston House — designed in 1782 by the Adam brothers — served as the clubhouse until 1966 when the present New Jerviston House was built.
The clubhouse offers reception, dining, bar, function room and golf facilities, with PGA professional Sam Cairns running the pro shop. Visitors are welcomed and the club is a popular venue for Lanarkshire Golf Association events. The course lies between the M8 and M74 motorways close to Motherwell town centre.
