Golf Course Overview
Coed-y-Mwstwr, meaning "Whispering Woods" in Welsh, was founded in 1994 and is a members' club set on the edge of Coychurch near Bridgend in the Vale of Glamorgan. The 18-hole parkland course plays to a par of 69 over approximately 5,817 yards from the back tees, with fairways presented in a distinctive diamond mowing pattern. The tree-lined layout puts a premium on accuracy from the tee, while the receptive greens reward well-struck approaches — the mix of risk-and-reward short par 4s and varied par 3s gives players opportunities for birdies but punishes loose shots.
The clubhouse features a 40-seat conservatory overlooking the course, a large lounge, decking area, well-stocked bar with a reputation for excellent buffets, and a small professional shop with coaching available. Practice facilities include a chipping area, putting green and nets. Visitors with a club handicap can play at any time except weekends, when they must be accompanied by a member. Societies and functions are welcomed, and the course sits just a couple of kilometres from Junction 35 of the M4.
