Golf Course Overview
Cocks Moors Woods Golf Course was designed by the celebrated team of Fred G. Hawtree and J.H. Taylor and opened in 1926. The 18-hole municipal parkland course measures 5,784 yards with a par of 68 and is set across 130 acres of parkland in south Birmingham. The layout features wide fairways, mature trees and challenging greens, with the par-4 13th — a dogleg requiring careful placement around trees and bunkers — generally regarded as the signature hole. The course has long been valued as one of Birmingham's most accessible municipal venues for new and experienced players alike.
The course is run by Mytime Active alongside the adjacent Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre, which offers an indoor swimming pool, gym and wider sports facilities. A pro shop, tuition and bar facilities are available on site. The course is located on Alcester Road South in Kings Heath, just off the A435, with easy access from Birmingham city centre and the wider West Midlands.
