Golf Course Overview
Cloverhill Golf Club opened in 1999 in the Ring of Gullion in south Armagh, an area designated for outstanding natural beauty. The 18-hole parkland layout measures around 5,685 yards with a par of 70 and a standard scratch score of 68, and is laid out at the foot of Slieve Gullion mountain with an inland lake in play. A run of holes from the 8th to the 12th, dubbed the club's own 'Amen Corner', wraps around the mountainside and across the lake and provides the chief talking point of the round, while the opening parkland holes give visitors an easier introduction.
The clubhouse has a bar, restaurant, pro shop and locker rooms, and visitors and societies are welcome by prior arrangement seven days a week. The club has been featured in 'Hooked: Ireland's Golf Courses' for the quality of its mountain holes. Cloverhill sits just outside Mullaghbawn village on the Lough Road, roughly 10 miles south-west of Newry and 8 miles north of Dundalk, accessible from the A1/N1 corridor.
