Golf Course Overview
Clober Golf Club, founded in 1951, is set in the heart of Milngavie just outside Glasgow. The 18-hole parkland course was designed by George Lyle, the uncle of Open and Masters champion Sandy Lyle MBE, who serves as the club's Honorary President. Although not long at around 4,963 yards from the white tees with a par of 66, the layout is quirky and challenging, with eight par-3s — many requiring medium to long irons into relatively small greens. Mature trees frame the fairways and accuracy is rewarded throughout.
The clubhouse offers a friendly bar and kitchen with outdoor seating and a varied calendar of social events. There is a pro shop, putting green and locker rooms; trolley and electro-trolley hire are available. Visitors are welcomed Monday to Friday and the course is easily accessible from Bearsden, Clydebank, Glasgow's West End and Milngavie railway station, around seven miles north-west of the city centre.
