 Golf Course Overview

Cirencester Golf Club was founded in 1910 and is set in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds at Bagendon, representing upland golf at its best. The original layout was designed by five-time Open champion James Braid, with significant remodelling by Donald Steel in 1996. The par-71 course plays to around 6,249 yards on free-draining Cotswold limestone, with a course rating of 70.7 and slope of 129. Rolling terrain, wide mown fairways and quick, true greens set the tone, and the 4th and 18th share a dramatic valley before climbing to higher ground where the par-5 12th, short par-3 13th and signature par-4 14th are particularly memorable.

A "no mat" winter policy reflects how well the course drains, meaning Cirencester is rarely closed even in poor weather. Facilities include a driving range, practice areas, pro shop, buggy hire and a cosy clubhouse serving food and drink throughout the day. Visitors and societies are welcomed under an open-door policy, and the club hosts county fixtures as an affiliated member of the Gloucestershire Golf Union. Located on the Cheltenham Road (A435) just north of Cirencester, the club is easily reached from junction 11a of the M5 and from Cheltenham, Oxford and Swindon.
