 Golf Course Overview

Churston Golf Club was established in 1890 and sits on the cliffs overlooking Torbay between Churston and Brixham, with the current 18-hole course laid out by the great English architect Harry S. Colt in 1923 and later adjusted by Hawtree. The parkland-cum-clifftop course measures 6,270 yards to a par of 70, with small, undulating greens that are typical of Colt's design thinking. The underlying shillet and shale geology gives the course excellent drainage and year-round playability, and the elevated position produces stunning sea views across Torbay to Brixham and the open Channel. The course runs alongside the South West Coastal Path, reinforcing its coastal character.

Facilities include a modern clubhouse with bar, lounge and dining room, snooker legend Ray Reardon serving as Club President since 2002, and a resident PGA professional team offering tuition through a computerised video system. A fleet of buggies is available for hire, and the club accommodates societies, visitors and private functions including weddings and conferences, with meeting space for up to around forty guests. Churston sits on the main road between Paignton and Brixham with easy road access and ample parking, and the English Riviera towns of Torquay and Dartmouth are nearby.
