Golf Course Overview
Chorleywood Golf Club is the oldest golf course in Hertfordshire, established on Chorleywood Common in 1890 with an original layout by Tom Dunn and a notable 1922 redesign by James Braid. The course is a heathland 9-hole, 18-tee design playing to a par of 68 and approximately 5,686 yards over the full circuit. Set on the protected common, the course is characterised by tight fairways lined with mature heath and woodland, small fast greens and a number of testing par fours that demand straight driving.
The clubhouse offers a bar, dining and changing facilities, with an active membership across men's, ladies', juniors' and seniors' sections, plus a regular programme of competitions and matches. Visitors and societies are made welcome and the club shares the common harmoniously with walkers and dog owners. Chorleywood is exceptionally easy to reach, sitting beside Chorleywood Common with the Metropolitan line station and junction 18 of the M25 both just a short distance away.
