Chippenham Golf Club

 Golf Course Overview

Chippenham Golf Club was founded in 1896 and has evolved considerably over its history. Originally laid out as seven holes on Allington Gorse and known as a downland-style links, the course grew to nine holes and then to eighteen in 1932 with design input from the celebrated golf course architect Harry S. Colt. A major redevelopment completed in 2012 effectively doubled the playing area, adding new holes and a modern clubhouse, followed by a covered driving range in 2015. The current 18-hole parkland course measures 6,414 yards off the white tees with a par of 72 and features a balanced mix of eight par 4s, five par 3s and five par 5s. Narrow fairways, small well-bunkered greens and the drop par-3 13th are among the course's distinctive challenges.

Facilities include an 8-bay covered driving range, a short game area, a modern air-conditioned clubhouse with lounge, restaurant and members' bar, three meeting rooms, a pro shop and modern locker rooms. Visitors, societies and corporate golf days are welcomed, and the club hosts a range of open competitions throughout the year. The venue lies on the Malmesbury Road just to the north of Chippenham town, with straightforward access from the A350 and from Junction 17 of the M4.
