Golf Course Overview
Childwall Golf Club is a prestigious South Liverpool parkland course, established in 1912 and laid out in its current form by James Braid in 1938. The 18-hole championship layout measures 6,568 yards at a par of 72, with well-protected greens, strategically placed bunkers, and a demanding test that rewards careful course management. The club is a regular venue for Lancashire County matches and has hosted the England Golf Northern Boys Championship, testament to the quality and reputation of this South Merseyside gem.
Set in the leafy Gateacre area of Liverpool, the course provides a peaceful escape while remaining easily accessible from the city. The club maintains high standards throughout, with professional coaching, a well-stocked pro shop, excellent catering, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere for members and visitors alike.

Golf Empire Verdict
Childwall
"With over 100 years of history Childwall Golf Club, formed in 1912, is a traditional, tree-lined parkland course that serves up a consistent test of golf over almost dead flat terrain."
The course design was based on the recommendation of James Braid when the Club moved to its present site in 1938. Over the years it has undergone some alterations, mainly to increase the length.
