Golf Course Overview
Chester Golf Club was founded in 1901 and enjoys one of the most distinctive settings in the county, occupying a two-level parkland site within a sweeping loop of the River Dee on the west side of the city. The 18-hole course plays to a par of 71 over approximately 6,461 yards from the white tees, with a course rating of 68.7 and slope of 124. Tree-lined fairways, well-maintained greens and pleasant river views characterise the layout, while level changes between the upper and lower sections add variety and a fair test for golfers of all standards.
The clubhouse offers a full range of facilities including bar, restaurant, changing rooms and function space, and practice facilities include a driving range, putting green and dedicated chipping area; buggy and club hire are available. Chester also doubles as the home of the County Office for Cheshire Golf. Visitors and societies are welcomed, and the club runs a busy calendar of open amateur competitions alongside its member events. The course is at Curzon Park North, just over a mile from Chester city centre, with easy access from the A483 and junction 12 of the M56.
