Golf Course Overview

Chesham & Ley Hill Golf Club was established in 1900 and is one of the older clubs in the Chiltern Hills, with golf having been played on the nearby common since the 1890s when Lord Chesham gave a group of local professional men permission to play there. Local artisans subsequently formed the Ley Hill section of the club. The nine-hole parkland course measures around 5,248 to 5,296 yards (par 67 played as 18) and is set within mature oak woodland on Ley Hill Common. The layout is renowned for its tricky tee shots and small, fast greens, and the natural slopes and trees provide a pleasing test for golfers of all abilities.

Facilities include a friendly clubhouse with bar and food service, a putting green and a chipping area; the club is a member of the National Association of Public Golf Courses where appropriate and there are currently no joining fees. Membership grants tee booking-free play and entry to the full programme of competitions and events. Visitors are welcome every day at competitive green fee rates. The club is just outside Chesham within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
