Golf Course Overview
Cherwell Edge Golf Club is an eighteen-hole parkland course at Chacombe, just over the South Northamptonshire border near Banbury, opened in 1980. The two loops play to a par of 70 over around 5,993 yards from the white tees, made up of a more open and traditional front nine (Middleton) and a more undulating back nine (Chacombe) where club selection and accuracy off the tee become more important. Tree-lined fairways, several short par 4s, and small, true greens reward thoughtful play more than raw length.
Facilities at Cherwell Edge include a recently refurbished covered floodlit driving range, contoured practice putting green, chipping area, practice bunker and a well-stocked pro shop with PGA tuition. The clubhouse is a popular venue for weddings, conferences and other functions, with a large conservatory and heated marquee overlooking the course. The course is open to visitors any day, sits in the rolling hills of north Oxfordshire / south Northamptonshire and is around five minutes' drive from Banbury via the M40 (junction 11) and the A422.
