Golf Course Overview

Cheadle Golf Club was founded in 1885 and claims the honour of being the oldest nine-hole course in Cheshire, with only Royal Liverpool predating it in the county. The parkland layout plays to a par of 34 for a single circuit (par 68 over 18 tees) across approximately 2,497 yards for 9 holes, giving a full round of around 4,993 yards from the white tees. Fairways are flanked by mature trees and a meandering brook winds through the course, and although relatively short the layout demands accuracy on several well-protected greens. The course suits beginners and improving players while still offering a genuine test of short-game skills.

Facilities include a welcoming clubhouse with bar, lounge, 19th-hole coffee bar, committee room, patio and snooker room, plus a function room that can cater for up to 100 guests. A well-stocked pro shop, practice putting green and practice net are available, and lessons are offered by the resident PGA professional. The club fields active ladies' and gents' competition days plus many mixed events, and runs a full programme of social evenings and dinners. Situated on Shiers Drive just off Cheadle Road, the course is easily reached from the A34 and junction 2 of the M60.
