Played the TwentyTen course in the past few weeks and although it is a tough walk, it's has some great holes. Make sure you are driving the ball well or you'll struggle. Practice facilities before you tee off are top class and no excuse not to be warmed up before you tee off!

 Golf Course Overview

The Celtic Manor Resort is a world-class destination set in around 2,000 acres of parkland in the Usk Valley just east of Newport and famous as the host of the 2010 Ryder Cup. It offers three championship courses: the Roman Road, opened in 1995 to a design by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and measuring around 6,600 yards; The Montgomerie, designed by Colin Montgomerie; and the showpiece Twenty Ten Course, designed by Ross McMurray of European Golf Design and opened in 2007 as the first course purpose-built to host the Ryder Cup. The Twenty Ten plays to a par of 71 at up to 7,493 yards with water in play on more than half the holes, dramatic carries across valleys and the iconic closing stretch that decided the 2010 match.

The resort's golf facilities include a world-class golf academy with a 28-bay two-tier Toptracer floodlit driving range, swing studios with digital analysis, PGA tuition packages and a short-game area. Two luxurious clubhouses serve the courses — the Twenty Ten Clubhouse, home to the acclaimed Rafters restaurant with views over the Usk Valley, and The Lodge, one of Europe's largest. The site also features several hotels including the five-star Resort Hotel with 332 rooms, the Manor House and Newbridge on Usk, plus a convention centre, two spas and multiple restaurants. Celtic Manor is easily reached just off Junction 24 of the M4, around 90 minutes from London and 45 minutes from Bristol and Cardiff airports.

"The Celtic Manor Resort has no less than three golf courses."

It is famed for its Twenty Ten course which recently staged the Ryder Cup, however, there are two other courses at this 5-star resort in South Wales.
