 Golf Course Overview

Cabot Highlands, formerly known as Castle Stuart, is a 420-acre resort set along the Moray Firth shoreline. The flagship Castle Stuart Golf Links opened in 2009, designed by Mark Parsinen and Gil Hanse, measuring 7,009 yards with a par of 72 and consistently ranked among the world's top 100 courses. A second championship 18-hole layout, Old Petty, by Tom Doak, opened for preview play in August 2025 with full opening set for 2026, winding around the historic 17th century castle from which the resort takes its name.

Facilities include an Art Deco-inspired clubhouse with a restaurant and pro shop, a practice range, short course, on-site luxury lodges and cottages, and a small boutique hotel. Castle Stuart has hosted three Scottish Opens on the European Tour, and the property is located about ten minutes from central Inverness and is minutes from Inverness Airport, making it a natural base for a wider Highlands golf itinerary.

"You don’t need to think strategically to play Castle Stuart but to play Castle Stuart you need to think strategically."

The above summarises this modern links perfectly and in my opinion is a sign of greatness. Castle Stuart is great.
