Golf Course Overview

Carrickvale Golf Club is an Edinburgh-based members' club that plays its golf over the Carrick Knowe municipal course in the west of the city. The course is an 18-hole easy-walking parkland layout maintained by Edinburgh Leisure, set close to Edinburgh Zoo and the Murrayfield Stadium. Although the ground is relatively flat, the prevailing westerly wind can turn a straightforward walk into a stern test of shot-making, and the course offers a balanced mix of par-3, par-4 and par-5 holes that caters to all standards of golfer. Carrickvale members benefit from courtesy tee times through a long-standing relationship with Edinburgh Leisure.

The clubhouse at 29 Glendevon Park is a comfortable venue that hosts a lively social calendar of cabarets, comedy nights, horse-racing evenings and dinners, and is also available for hire by members and the public for private functions and parties. The club is fully affiliated to Scottish Golf, so members can obtain an official handicap, and it runs a full programme of competitions across the summer and winter including monthly medals, summer singles and fourballs, and the Club Championships in June. The clubhouse is a two-minute walk from the Balgreen tram stop, placing it ten minutes from Edinburgh city centre and fifteen minutes from the airport.
