Golf Course Overview
Cardross Golf Club was founded in 1895 and the present 18-hole parkland layout benefited from design changes recommended by James Braid that were implemented in 1921. Measuring around 6,455 yards to a par of 71, the course is renowned for its quality par-4s, generous undulating fairways, mature deciduous trees and panoramic views across the River Clyde. The course tends to play longer than the scorecard suggests and is particularly noted for its all-year-round condition. Cardross hosted the 1992 Scottish Professional Championship, won by future Open Champion Paul Lawrie, and counts amateur legend Charlie Green among its most celebrated former members.
The club has a welcoming clubhouse with excellent catering, a well-stocked pro shop, driving range, function facilities and changing rooms. Visitors and golf societies are welcomed and the course is just six miles from the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, around 20 minutes from Glasgow Airport, with easy access via the A814.
