Golf Course Overview
Canons Brook Golf Club opened in 1963 at Harlow, with the original layout designed by three-time Open Champion Sir Henry Cotton. The 18-hole parkland course spreads across 112 acres, measuring around 6,706 yards to a par of 73, with a course rating of 72.4 and a slope of 136 — a genuinely demanding test among Essex courses. The brook that gives the club its name meanders through the layout, gathering errant shots from several holes, and the 12th stands as Cotton's signature hole, seemingly simple but defended by hazards that reward careful thought.
Facilities include a clubhouse with bar, restaurant and function rooms, a well-stocked pro shop and qualified PGA professionals offering tuition. The club hosts regular carvery lunches, society days and charity events, and is a County Card participant. Canons Brook is accessible from the M11 and A414, with the course set on Elizabeth Way in central Harlow.
