 Golf Course Overview

Canmore Golf Club was founded in 1897 and has occupied its present site on the northern outskirts of Dunfermline since 1902. Originally a 9-hole layout designed with input from Ben Sayers, it was extended to 18 holes in 1914, with the present-day design finalised in 1946 after both world wars saw parts of the course pressed into use for the war effort. The parkland course measures 5,455 yards with a par of 67, comprising 13 par-4s and five par-3s and no par-5s – deceptively short but an honest test of accuracy and short game. The signature 11th, "Quarry," is a 374-yard par-4 with a blind second shot dropping 30 feet to a green surrounded by steep embankments, out-of-bounds, two bunkers and a burn.

The course meanders around the clubhouse so golfers enjoy multiple starting points for shorter rounds. Recent upgrades have improved clubhouse accessibility, with a well-stocked bar, excellent catering, and panoramic views over Dunfermline, the Forth Bridges and across to Edinburgh and the Pentland Hills. A pro shop offers club, buggy and trolley hire, and practice facilities include a putting green, chipping green and practice bunker. Visitors are welcomed all year round with tee times from 7am seasonally; visiting party rates start from £29.50 per person. Located on Venturefair Avenue off the A823 Crieff Road, the course is easily reached from the M90.
