Golf Course Overview
Canford Magna Golf Club near Wimborne, Dorset, was a popular pay-and-play venue with a well-regarded Riverside course running alongside the River Stour, an additional Parkland course, a driving range and clubhouse, favoured for its condition and excellent greens. The course closed in April 2016 after the owners (Canford Renewable Energy) obtained planning consent to change its use, with around 47 hectares of the former course since being converted into the Canford Park Riverside SANG (Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace), opening up the site to public walking and recreation along the Stour.
