Golf Course Overview
Cambuslang Golf Club, founded in 1892, is a 9-hole parkland course just south-east of Glasgow, played twice for an 18-hole round of around 5,942 yards to a par of 70. The gently rolling, tree-lined layout sits close to the River Clyde, which runs along the northern boundary of the course, and is regarded locally as a "wee local 9-holer" with a distinguished history — the club is unique in having had two former Scottish Amateur champions among its members in John S. Montgomerie (1957) and Craig Everett (1990). The opening hole, aptly named "Long", sets the tone with a par-5 to start, while the par-4 fifth and ninth are well known signature holes.
The clubhouse offers a comfortable bar and restaurant, with changing facilities, lockers and a function room available for hire. Visiting societies and groups are welcomed, with restrictions on weekends before 2pm and during competitions. Cambuslang is reached easily from junction 2A of the M74 southbound, just 15 minutes from Glasgow city centre.
