Golf Course Overview
Calverley Golf Club opened in 1980 on a semi-rural site spanning both sides of Woodhall Lane, between Pudsey and Calverley in West Yorkshire. The 18-hole parkland course was extensively revised by Peter McEvoy in 2009, with a further refresh launched in 2020, and now measures around 5,529 yards with a par of 68. The compact layout demands accuracy off the tees and into the greens — particularly on the front nine, generally regarded as the more challenging of the two halves, where tighter fairways and shaped holes require thoughtful placement. The back nine offers more freedom to use the driver.
Alongside the 18-hole course there is also a 9-hole pay-and-play layout open to all without booking, plus a footgolf course. The modern clubhouse features a friendly bar with a good selection of beers, wines and spirits and food served all day, and the venue is also a popular setting for weddings and private functions. The 18-hole course is not available to visitors on Sunday mornings; advance booking is recommended.
