Golf Course Overview
Caldew Golf Club, also known as Dalston Hall (Caldew) Golf Club, is a 9-hole/18-tee parkland course on the south-west outskirts of Carlisle, opened in 1990 and set in the valley of the River Caldew on the fringe of the Lake District National Park. The course measures approximately 2,700 yards over 9 holes (around 5,005–5,176 yards over 18 holes, par 67), with the river valley and Lake District fells providing a dramatic backdrop. Wildlife abounds on the course, with rabbits, red squirrels, oyster catchers, herons and even deer regularly seen during a round.
The course shares facilities with Dalston Hall Holiday Park, which offers static caravans, lodges, seasonal touring pitches, fly fishing on the River Caldew, walking trails and easy access to the riverside path. The on-site clubhouse has a bar and dining facilities, and visitors are welcome to play (with weekend and weekday-evening tee reservations advised). Located off the B5299 at Dalston, the course is just 15 minutes from Carlisle city centre and quickly reached from Junction 42 of the M6.
