Golf Course Overview
Calderbraes Golf Club, founded in 1891, is the second oldest club in Lanarkshire and offers a hilly woodland 9-hole course at Uddingston in the east of Greater Glasgow, played twice for an 18-hole round of around 5,186 yards to a par of 66. Despite its compact 9-hole layout, the course delivers a tougher test than first impressions suggest, with tight fairways, raised greens and out-of-bounds in play on almost every hole. The notable par-4 fourth requires a long second shot to a raised green flanked by out-of-bounds on both sides, while the variety of the routing makes the second loop feel different from the first.
Facilities include a welcoming clubhouse with a bar, restaurant and changing rooms, and a small practice area for warming up. Visitors are welcome on weekdays, with restrictions on weekends and competition days. The course sits on Roundknowe Road off the B7001 in Uddingston, just east of Glasgow Zoo and reached easily from junction 5 of the M74.
