Golf Course Overview
Cairndhu Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course set on a coastal headland between Larne and Glenarm on the Causeway Coastal Route. Designed by J.F.S. Morrison of the firm Colt, Allison and Morrison in 1958, with subsequent revisions in 1963, the course occupies over 200 acres of mature woodland and rolling hills. It plays to around 6,091 yards, par 70, with rating 70.0 and slope 121. The course is widely considered one of Ireland's most scenic, with views across to the Scottish coast and the Southern Hebrides, and headlands stretching towards the Glens of Antrim.
The club has hosted the 2021 and 2022 NI Open and the ISPS HANDA World Invitational Qualifier, plus the 2023 NI Open Pro-Am as part of the Clutch Pro Tour. Bar, restaurant, pro shop and buggy hire are all available, and the clubhouse and restaurant are noted for their hospitality and food. The course is best played Monday to Friday for visitors and societies.
