 Golf Course Overview

Caird Park Golf Club in Dundee was a long-standing municipal facility opened in 1926, offering an 18-hole (par 70) and 9-hole course set within Caird Park on the city's northern edge, once claimed as one of the busiest golf courses in Europe. Run by Leisure and Culture Dundee, the club became financially unsustainable (with every round subsidised by around £9 from council tax), and Dundee City Council voted in December 2024 to close it; Caird Park ceased operating on 30 April 2025, leaving Scotland's fourth-largest city with no municipal golf course. The land is being retained as parkland green space with higher-level naturalised grass areas for biodiversity.

Closed 2025.
