Golf Course Overview
Caerphilly Golf Club was formed on its existing site in 1905 and is one of the oldest established clubs in South Wales. The 18-hole mountain course measures around 5,799 yards with a par of 71 and, as the address suggests, plays over notably hilly terrain on the slopes above the town. The layout demands accuracy off the tee, with well-bunkered par-3s and elevated tees offering majestic views of Caerphilly Castle, the town and the surrounding countryside.
The clubhouse offers a full bar, catering and function facilities, while the course features practice areas and changing rooms. Visitors and societies are welcomed by prior arrangement, and the club has a particular reputation for the quality of its food. Caerphilly is within easy walking distance of Caerphilly town centre and just seven miles north of Cardiff, with good public-transport links and convenient access from the A469.
