Golf Course Overview
Burton on Trent Golf Club was founded in 1894 and has occupied its present site at Bretby, just outside Burton on Trent, for more than a century. The 18-hole parkland course was redesigned by renowned architect Harry Colt in 1914 and is set within 150 acres of mature woodland. Measuring around 6,510 yards to a par of 71, it features tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy from the tee, fast multi-tiered greens that reward a deft touch, and three of its four par-3s played uphill. The finishing hole is often described as having an Augusta feel, providing a memorable climax to the round.
The club is an accredited England Golf Championship Venue, with a driving range, practice area, putting green, pro shop, bar and restaurant. Visitors are welcomed every day, and society days for groups of 16 and above are accommodated particularly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. The course lies just over two miles from Burton on Trent railway station and is easily reached from the A511 and the A38.
