 Golf Course Overview

Burslem Golf Club, founded in 1907, is a long-established moorland course set on the edge of Stoke-on-Trent in north Staffordshire. The course is laid out as nine holes with eighteen separate tee positions, giving a full eighteen-hole round of around 5,274 to 5,303 yards to a par of 66 with standard scratch 66. Although relatively short by modern standards, the undulating, narrow fairways, contoured greens and well-positioned hazards demand careful club selection and a sharp short game, making it a genuine challenge for mid- and high-handicappers while still offering low-handicap golfers the chance to post a good score. The opening 418-yard par 4 plays downhill with elevated views over Park Hall and sets the tone for a layout that punishes wayward shots throughout.

The club has a comfortable clubhouse with a bar, dining room and function space large enough to accommodate visiting societies, plus changing facilities and a putting green. Visitors are welcome on weekdays and societies can be catered for in advance, with a smart-casual dress code applied (no denim, t-shirts or football shorts on the course). Burslem is conveniently placed in the Tunstall area off the A50 and A500 corridor and counts the late Roy Sproson, the Port Vale legend, among its notable former associations.
