Golf Course Overview
Burlish Park Golf Club (originally Wyre Forest Golf Club) near Kidderminster in Worcestershire was an 18-hole, 5,790-yard parkland course built on a free-draining sandy base in 1994, designed by the Golf Design Group and known for some attractive holes, wide fairways and excellent drainage that kept it playable when other local courses were waterlogged. The club closed in 2017–2018 after Burlish Park Golf Centres Ltd was forced into liquidation, with operators blaming a failed waste-management contract that left the company financially distressed and unable to continue. The land reverted to Wyre Forest District Council, which has transformed the site into Burlish Meadows Local Nature Reserve in partnership with Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, planting around 18,000 trees, introducing cattle grazing and creating a popular space for walkers and dog walkers — the council has stated golf will never return to the site.
Closed 2017/2018.
