Golf Course Overview
Founded in 1890 as one of the first golf clubs in Lincolnshire, Burghley Park Golf Club is set within the historic Capability Brown-designed parkland of the Burghley Estate, on the outskirts of the Georgian town of Stamford. The 18-hole course plays to a par of 70 over 6,312 yards and was significantly upgraded in 2007 under the guidance of architects Tom MacKenzie and Martin Ebert. Laid out on porous limestone, the course drains excellently and remains in good condition year-round. Indigenous tree species, well-positioned bunkers and fast, true greens demand accuracy on both the shorter and longer holes; the stretch from the 12th to the 14th is a particular highlight.
The clubhouse extends a warm welcome to members, visitors and non-golfers alike, with hot and cold snacks, breakfasts, bar meals, lunch parties, evening functions and wedding receptions. Facilities include a pro shop, academy, putting green and practice area. The club is within walking distance of Stamford town centre and is easily reached from the A1.
