Golf Course Overview

Burford Golf Club opened for play in 1936 and has matured into a well-regarded 18-hole parkland course on the southern fringe of the Cotswolds market town. The layout measures around 6,363 yards to a par of 71, with a course rating of 71.4 and slope of 134. Its defining characteristics are tree-lined fairways that demand accurate driving and well-conditioned greens that reward good approach play, giving golfers of all abilities a fair but rewarding test throughout a mixed landscape of gently rolling terrain.

The clubhouse offers bar and catering facilities in a comfortable, traditional setting, and there is a pro shop led by head PGA professional Adam Souter. Visitors and societies are welcomed throughout the year and the club hosts a regular programme of open competitions, with many visitors returning annually. Burford sits just off the A40 at the junction with the A361, giving easy access for golfers travelling from Oxford, Cheltenham, Swindon and Banbury, and the medieval town itself is a popular gateway to the Cotswolds with a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and hotels.
