Golf Course Overview
Bunsay Downs Golf Club, part of the wider Warren Estate near Maldon, opened in 1982 and offers two complementary 9-hole layouts in attractive parkland on the edge of Woodham Walter. The main Bunsay Downs course measures around 2,800 yards over nine holes and combines well-treed fairways, a couple of par 5s, and gently undulating ground that suits both newcomers and more seasoned players; the well-regarded Badgers Par-3 course alongside is set in a woodland glade with elevated tees, ponds and tightly framed greens that pose a different short-game challenge. The 7th and 8th on the main loop are particular highlights.
The club operates as part of the 325-acre Warren Estate, which also includes the Warren Golf & Country Club, lodge accommodation, a health club and wedding venue. On site at Bunsay there is a clubhouse with bar, a short-game practice area, and buggies and trolleys for hire. Visitors and societies are welcomed and the location off Little Baddow Road, between Danbury and Woodham Walter, is easily reached from the A12 and the A414.
