Golf Course Overview
Brunston Castle Golf Club at Dailly near Girvan in South Ayrshire was an 18-hole parkland course of 6,566 yards (par 72) designed by Donald Steel and opened in 1992, laid out on both sides of the salmon-rich River Girvan alongside the ruins of the 15th-century Brunston Castle, and known for its natural undulating fairways and strong reputation hosting county and national events. After years of ownership changes, a 2013 member buy-out and membership dropping below 100 in the face of competition from nearby Turnberry, Troon and Belleisle, the club closed on 13 January 2019; the course has become overgrown and is now grazed by sheep, while the adjacent Brunston Castle holiday lodges remain in separate operation.
Closed 2019.
