Golf Course Overview
Bristol & Clifton Golf Club was founded in 1891 and is one of the most historic clubs in the region, celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2016 by staging the English Women's Open Stroke Play Championship. The mature parkland course stretches to around 6,413 yards at a par of 70, with a course rating of 71.6 and slope of 129 from the white tees. Gently undulating fairways, skilfully placed bunkers and firm, true greens provide a varied test for all abilities, and the layout has been refined by architect Peter McEvoy in more recent years while retaining its original charm.
The clubhouse, built in 1899, blends Victorian character with modern amenities and offers bar and dining facilities along with function rooms for weddings and corporate events. On-site practice facilities include a driving range, putting green, chipping area and practice bunker, and the club is a regular host of England Golf fixtures and county events. Bristol & Clifton is located on Beggar Bush Lane in Failand, only four miles from junction 19 of the M5 and a short drive from Bristol city centre and the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
