Golf Course Overview
Bridge of Allan Golf Club, founded in 1894 with the course laid out by Old Tom Morris in 1895, is a 9-hole hilly inland layout at Sunnylaw above the village. Played twice for an 18-hole round of around 5,120 yards to a par of 66, it is famous for its opening hole — a 228-yard par-3 played uphill all the way over a stone dyke roughly 20 yards short of the green that few members can carry. The climb is rewarded with sweeping views over the Ochil Hills, the Forth Valley and the mountains of Tayside, and the course's century-old design has stood the test of time.
The clubhouse offers a bar and dining facilities, and there are practice areas, putting and chipping greens. Visitors are welcomed every day and societies are accepted. Bridge of Allan sits just north of Stirling on the A9, with the course reached via Pendreich Road from Sunnylaw.
