Golf Course Overview
Brickendon Grange Golf Club occupies 160 acres of rolling parkland south of Hertford. Designed by noted architect C.K. Cotton, the first fifteen holes opened in May 1967, with the full 18 completed in June 1968. The course plays to a par 71 at around 6,483 yards, with tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering and greens widely praised for being exceptionally true and fast. Its signature hole is the par-4 17th, the "Ace of Herts", which has been voted the finest amateur golf hole in the UK — a daunting tee shot is followed by an approach over water to a raised green.
The clubhouse is housed in a stone manor known as The Grange, built in 1859, and offers a modern interior with bar, restaurant and function facilities. Members and visitors also benefit from a driving range, short-game area and practice putting green. A private members' club of more than 600 men, women and juniors, Brickendon welcomes visitor bookings Monday to Friday from late morning and is a popular venue for county events. The club lies about nine miles from the M25 via the A10.
