Golf Course Overview

Brechin Golf Club was formed in 1893 at Trinity Muir, just north of the town, and was extended and bunkered by the famous architect James Braid in 1926 after his inspection visit. The relatively flat parkland course measures around 6,162 yards with a par of 72, featuring tree-lined fairways demanding accuracy off the tee, rolling terrain and outstanding views towards the Grampian Hills. Several holes are particularly memorable, including the par-5 7th with water hazards and strategic bunkering, and a series of testing par-3s. The course is celebrated for its consistently high condition, lush fairways and excellent putting surfaces.

Brechin was named Scotland's Golf Club of the Year in 2023, and facilities are extensive for a club of its size: an 18-hole footgolf course introduced in 2015, "The Loft" gaming area with a Foresight Falcon golf simulator, interactive darts and a pool table, a well-equipped fitness suite, and the award-winning Hickory Restaurant and bar serving snacks, lunches and full meals. The clubhouse is a popular wedding and events venue. Visitors and societies are warmly welcomed with competitive packages. The course sits on the A90 corridor midway between Dundee and Aberdeen, within an hour's drive of Carnoustie, St Andrews and Blairgowrie.
