 Golf Course Overview

Bramall Park Golf Club was founded on 8th October 1894, with the first round played just over a month later on a basic 9-hole course leased from a local farmer. One of the founding figures was Sir Charles Nevill, owner of the nearby Bramall Hall, and his name lives on in the club's Nevill Challenge Cup. After the First World War additional land was acquired and Dr Alister MacKenzie — later of Augusta National fame — was engaged in 1921 to redesign the course, bringing it up to 18 holes. The present parkland layout measures around 6,184 yards to a par of 70 from the white tees, with a course rating of 70.2 and slope of 138, and routes fairways through avenues of mature native trees with well-positioned bunkering and finely maintained greens.

The clubhouse, dating from 1923, offers a bar, dining, changing facilities and function rooms, and the club has a well-stocked pro shop and good practice facilities including a nine-hole putting green. Visitors and societies are welcomed and the club actively competes in Cheshire Union team events. Situated on Manor Road in the leafy Bramhall district south of Stockport, the course is easily reached via the A34 and junction 3 of the M60.
