Golf Course Overview

Braeside Golf Club has changed its home course twice in recent years. Founded in 1947 at the historic Beckenham Place Park municipal course in the London Borough of Lewisham, the club had to relocate when Lewisham Council closed the course in 2016. Braeside then played at Selsdon Park Golf Course until that course closed following the sale of the De Vere Selsdon Hotel and Golf Course complex in November 2021. The club is now based at Farleigh Golf Club, between Selsdon and Warlingham south of Croydon — historically in Surrey rather than Kent. The Farleigh layout offers a fine parkland test designed by John Jacobs, with a championship course of more than 7,000 yards plus an additional nine.

Braeside is a friendly members' club that prides itself on inclusiveness and accessibility, welcoming both seasoned competitive golfers and recreational players, men and women alike. The club is a member of the National Association of Public Golf Courses and Clubs (NAPGC) and runs a full programme of monthly medals, knock-outs, a Men's Club Championship over 36 holes in September, Captain's Day and around 20 competitions between April and October. The club also competes in the Penfold League for clubs in South-East London and Kent.
