Golf Course Overview
Bothwell Castle Golf Club, founded in 1922 and celebrating its centenary in 2022, sits in the woodland surrounding the 13th-century Bothwell Castle. The current layout has been reshaped by Paul Kimber and is a flat parkland course measuring around 6,224 yards to a par of 70, with mature trees framing the manicured fairways and strategically positioned ditches and bunkers. The club's signature holes are the par-3 8th, with its bunker-encircled green, and the closing par-5 18th, where a sloping green is protected by a pond and open ditch for those tempted to attack in two.
One of the most modern clubhouses in Scottish golf provides a lounge, spike bar, dining room with course views, and a function room popular for events. Visitors and societies are welcomed weekdays throughout the year, and the location is around 10 miles from Glasgow city centre, easily accessed via the M74 (junction 5) and the M8.
