Golf Course Overview
Bootle Golf Club is a long-established municipal eighteen-hole parkland course on Dunningsbridge Road in south Sefton, opened in the early 1930s. The course was laid out by professional Fred Stephens and plays to a par of 70 over roughly 6,200 yards, with mature trees, gentle contours and a number of holes that demand accuracy as much as length. Despite its modest scale and pay-and-play character, the course has retained a loyal membership and is well known locally for its welcoming atmosphere and consistently fair test of golf.
The club is managed by Sefton Council's Green Sefton service and is open seven days a week to visitors as well as members, with a recently developed driving range, a pro shop, club hire and a small clubhouse. The course has hosted regular club competitions, junior coaching and society days, and benefits from an accessible position close to the M57, M58 and the wider Liverpool road network. It sits roughly halfway between Aintree Racecourse and the coast at Crosby, making it easy to reach by car or public transport.
