Golf Course Overview
Bonnyton Golf Club sits high above the conservation village of Eaglesham on heather-clad moorland, with views stretching to Ben Lomond, the Campsie Hills and beyond. The course was originally laid out by Dr Alister MacKenzie — designer of Augusta National — between 1922 and 1923, opening with an exhibition match featuring George Duncan, Abe Mitchell, J. H. Kirkwood and Walter Hagen. The 18-hole course measures around 6,321 yards to a par of 71, with elevated greens, well-positioned bunkers, mature tree-lined fairways and natural burns combining moorland drama with parkland charm.
The club has a comfortable clubhouse with bar and dining, a well-stocked pro shop with PGA professional staff, practice facilities including a covered driving range, and offers a wide range of membership categories. Visitors and societies are made welcome, and the club is just a short drive from Glasgow city centre via the A77 or M77.
