Golf Course Overview

Blackwood Golf Club is a long-established nine-hole course (played as 18 from differing tees) measuring approximately 5,332 yards with a par of 66. The course has been in existence for over a century and is regarded as a mature, well-drained layout that plays well in all seasons, including the depths of winter. Set in elevated countryside above the town of Blackwood in the Sirhowy Valley, the layout offers attractive views and includes some testing greens and tight fairways requiring accurate ball-striking.

The club has a friendly clubhouse with bar facilities, putting green and practice nets. Visitors and societies are welcomed and the course is widely regarded as good value for money, with online tee booking available via the BRS system. Access is from Lon Pennant in Cwmgelli on the northern edge of Blackwood, with easy reach from the A472 and the wider Heads of the Valleys road network.
