Golf Course Overview
Blackwell Golf Club was founded in 1893 on land that originally formed part of the Hewell Grange Estate, with the current layout dating from 1923 when celebrated architects Tom Simpson and Herbert Fowler redesigned the course. The 18-hole parkland measures 6,260 yards with a par of 70, and its most distinctive feature is a collection of five par 3s set around intricate, well-bunkered greens. More recent bunker and tree-line restoration work by Frank Pont in 2014 has returned much of the original Simpson character to the course.
The compact layout means both nines start and finish close to the clubhouse, keeping pace of play brisk. Blackwell is known as a traditional private members' club with a reputable cellar, and offers tailored society and corporate packages alongside member golf. The club sits on Agmore Road in the village of Blackwell, just north of Bromsgrove and within easy reach of the M5 and M42.

Golf Empire Verdict
Blackwell
"Blackwell is a lovely mature parkland course with undulating terrain, tricky greens and some fine holes that require much thought and intelligence."
The Club was founded in 1893 and is a very traditional English club with a timeless character. It is rightly regarded as one of the best in the West Midlands and is usually found in excellent condition due to a small playing membership, limited by constitution to 200.
